Magic Bullet Blender

About Magic Bullet Blender

During our tests, the Magic Bullet was able to crush ice, blend fruit and make almond butter. However, it had difficulty performing all of these functions. Although it was able to crush some ice, large chunks remained at the top of the jar that were left virtually untouched unless we stopped the blender and pushed the ice down. Making fruit smoothies was slightly easier, but some chunks were still left over. The Magic Bullet was able to make somewhat creamy almond butter, which is more than some of the other blenders could accomplish, but there were still large chunks left over, which is unfortunate. This performance is due to the low power of the blender, which is only 250 watts, making it the least powerful model out of all the blenders we reviewed. While in use, this model was slightly louder than the average blender, producing up to 93 dB. To give you an idea of how loud this is, the average vacuum produces around 75 dB, while a whisper is closer to 30 dB. However, the Magic Bullet produces isn’t as loud as some of the other units we reviewed.

I love it for making smoothies. Didn't try much of anything else yet, and I do have a bigger blender for bigger jobs. I wanted something small just for making shakes and smoothies, and this Magic Bullet is perfect for it. I don't put ice cubes in it, I use crashed ice instead to make it easier on the blender. I does a great job with soft fruits, such as bananas, strawberries, oranges, etc. I tried to make an apple sauce in it and it took a while to make it into a sauce, plus when I got it, it was super soft, like a baby food. It would be perfect for a baby, maybe someone would like it, but my 9 y.o. daughter didn't like the consistency. Also it took some time to blend it, because the apple slices didn't come down, so I had to stop the blender and shake it to move the apple slices down to the blade. I do love it for smoothies though. Fast, and easy to clean afterwards. Looks great on my countertop.

I have always loved the ease of using the Magic Bullet, especially the way you can shake it to keep it going, but was concerned over the plastic being transferred into my food, since I noticed that near the blades, that part of the plastic starts to shear off over time. Also, the last one I had seemed to not go downhill quickly. So, I tried to purchase an all glass and metal one smaller one that seemed like a good idea, but definitely did not work well in so many ways. Then, I found this attachment that was a genius idea made by this company that uses an all metal housing, some type of ice chopping blender blades that sound a bit different but work extremely well and I find much quieter overall. I had not issues with compatibility, so I highly recommend getting this extra very inexpensive, but high quality attachment you can find at this link: Now, I am one happy Magic Bullet user!

Blenders are nice but bullets are just more efficient and more functional for those who love to make sauces, ground coffee beans, shakes and smoothies. Blenders are good for large scale smoothie shops or for large families, but for single people or small families, the magic bullet is the most versatile investment you can get. Note: you may have to change blades every 2 years or so depending how heavily you use this thing. Do not pulse more than 30 seconds to 1 min b/c the base will get hot. You want to keep things EASY to pulse b/c it's no blender. The motion inside the fluid is pretty good. The only bad thing is that if you pack your cup a little too tightly with fruits, the top part might not move downward to blend enough so you have to take it off the base and shake it up before putting it back on the base. Manual provides recipes to get you going a to how a bullet can work for different cuisines Cleans easily but make sure you clean immediately after use so that the cracks don't fill up with dried stuff and then it looks gross afterawhile.
